An all natural, gorgeously smooth face cream that will leave your skin radiant and glowing.
Yield: 4-50 gram containers
- 40 grams shea butter
- 40 grams cocoa butter
- 80 grams coconut oil
- 80 grams sweet almond oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp vitamin E
- 20 drops black spruce essential oil
Heat 2-3 inches of water in the bottom of a large, flat saute pan.
Find a stainless steel bowl that will fit inside the saute pan, above.
Measure the cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil and liquid oil into the bowl, and heat together over medium heat until the oils are completely liquid.
Remove from heat and place the bowl in the freezer until firm, about 30 minutes, or until the cream has hardened around the edges of the pot and your finger leaves an imprint on the surface when you press into it.
Add essential oils and vitamin E to the bowl.
Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, start whipping the mixture on the slowest setting and gradually increase the speed as the mixture softens. Whip until it transitions from yellow to white, then lower the mixer speed back down and whip a little more to make it extra fluffy.
Once the body butter is light and fluffy, add the cornstarch and whip 1-2 minutes.
Store in an clean, airtight container.
