2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup lard or butter
- 1/2 cup dried currants or raisins
- 1 cup water
Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit
Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
Cut in the lard (or butter) until mixture is crumbly.
Add currants (or raisins) and water.
Place in a well-greased 8 x 8 pan and bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
